Depending on who is offering the information, mass shootings have more than one definition. The most telling definition is based on the injury or death of four or more individuals during a single incident with the use of a gun. For the last three years, using this statistic, there have been more mass shootings each year than days on the calendar.
Today the Guardian is reporting that 2019 set an all-time record for another definition of mass killings as 41. 211 men, women, and children lost their lives. The previous record was set in 2006 with 38 mass murders. However, the year with the largest number of deaths was 2017 with 224. In October of that year, 58 Americans were killed by a single shooter armed with 12 military assault rifles in Las Vegas. This is the largest number of deaths at a single incident of this type in American history. Then, in November, a lone gunman walked into a small church in Sutherland Springs Texas and slaughtered 26 more men, women, and children. Two mass shootings accounted for 84 of the 224 total.
Trump will be remembered as the president who ignored the largest number of unnecessary mass shootings in America’s history. The NRA owns him and all real Americans know this to be fact. Trump has no concern for the lives of innocent Americans; Trump cares about Trump and no one else.
I do not support Joe Biden in 2020. I have stated my reasons many times. He is too old and out of touch with our young nation. He is a centrist, which means he is backward thinking. His position on women’s rights and the plight of minorities is weak. His ignorance about the right of all Americans to have the finest healthcare available is unforgivable. He is also opposed to stronger gun control measures.
America needs a progressive; someone who will move our nation forward and join the rest of developed nations in support of social and economic issues for the majority, not the minority.
Don’t be fooled by what the lying television media, or Fox Noise would like you to believe. It is important to know that the largest voting bloc in America is composed of millennials. The largest number of overall voters belongs to women. Millennials and women tend to be more progressive and consider social issues of equal importance to ‘jobs.’ If Democrats choose a ‘status quo’ candidate, Trump will have a far greater chance to win reelection, legally or with the aid of Vladimir Putin.
Think when you vote on November 3, 2020. Choose a candidate whose position on the issues are closest to your own. No candidate is perfect, but some are far better than others. Vote for yourself and those you love; not for another failed political party.
