If a Moderate Wins the Democratic Nomination, Trump Will Receive a Disastrous Second Term; Bernie is Underestimated

I read a lot. I refuse to watch television “news.” Much of what I read is misleading, and in many cases completely inaccurate. Let me begin with what I truly believe. If Joe Biden is nominated by the Democratic Party, Trump will win a second term. This is sad prophecy for America. Voter turnout is the single and only important key to winning on November 3rd.

First, Biden has far too much baggage with minorities and women. Second, he has no new ideas. He is not a progressive. He is another “status quo” candidate and that is not what the American people want or need today.

The only guarantee of defeating Trump depends on two demographics: women and millennials. I sincerely believe that if a progressive/liberal is not nominated millennials will lose their interest in the election and once again stay home on election day. This would be disastrous. Millennials are the largest voting bloc in America. They tend to be progressive and denounce capitalism. They represent today’s America; changes Biden fails to recognize.

Going back to the Clarence Thomas hearings in 1991, Biden revealed his attitude towards women and especially black women. Biden was the chairman of the senate committee conducting the confirmation hearings of the Supreme Court nominee. His mistreatment of Anita Hill, who charged Thomas with sexual harassment, was unforgivable and even appalling.

Labeling Bernie Sanders a “communist,” or even a “socialist,” is libel. Democratic socialism would be nothing more than a return to an America which was fair for everyone.

There was once an escalating tax rate where the maximum rate for the super-rich was 75 percent; it is 33 percent today. Approximately 80 years ago workers shared in the profits of the businesses for which they labored. Today’s corporations are awarded with 400, 500, and even 600 percent profits. CEOs and members of the Boards of Directors receive millions and even tens-of-millions in compensation. Income inequality grows far faster than increases in pay and benefits for the majority of America’s workers. Just 50 years ago college was affordable for most Americans. Today only the wealthy can afford a four-year degree. Just 50 years ago healthcare was affordable for most Americans who had little or no health insurance. Unbridled capitalism has destroyed the American dream for hundreds of millions of Americans.

Bernie is right, and all the political experts are wrong. Fear of a Bernie Sanders presidency is a fallacy, which displays the same fears revealed from Trump and his cult; positive change in America.

Here’s the good news. The polls for Super Tuesday, March 3, show Bernie leading in California, and Texas. He is tied with Biden in North Carolina. These three states have the largest number of candidates who will attend the Democratic Convention this summer.

A few final facts for you to think about. America is more diverse every day. My age group, baby boomers, are dying off and have far less influence on our elections today. I was not allowed to vote until I was 21 years old. Most of the young men and women who experienced the mass shooting at Parkland High School in Florida in February 14, 2018, will be 18 and eligible to vote in November. The average age of all Americans is 38.1 years of age. Millennials are the largest voting block in America. Women compose 51 percent of our nation’s population. Who do you think Democrats should be courting for the 2020 election?
