When our founding fathers established our current form of government one of the three branches was removed from the influence of politics. In a Democratic Republic the judicial branch, the Supreme Court, is required to make decisions based solely on the Constitutionality of rules, laws, and executive orders. During the last three years Trump and Moscow Mitch McConnell stacked federal courts including the Supreme Court with judges and justices who make their decisions based on the policies of one political party.
This situation, which is undeniable, escalated into a war of words between Chief Justice John Roberts and Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer. Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has picked up the verbal battle in defense of Senator Schumer. He accused the current Court of bias in 80 percent of their 5-4 decisions which would void the outcome.
“As the architect of an 80-case barrage of partisan, 5-4 decisions for big Republican donor interests, Chief Justice Roberts has zero credibility playing umpire in any political squabble,” Whitehouse wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. The senator has since continued to post on the supposed 80 partisan decisions.
“[Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell’s effort to pack the Court is echoed by his effort to reassure the Republican justices of continued Republican political support. In a word: ‘Keep churning out the decisions for our big donors, boys; we’ve got your back,’” Whitehouse wrote on Thursday.
Let me step back several months. The last two justices rammed through the nomination process, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, are biased and failed to meet most standards for receiving a lifetime appointment on the Bench.
The process for Kavanaugh brought back memories of the 1991 hearings for Clarence Thomas. Once again Republicans badgered a female witness who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault back in their college years. The result of the hearings should have been a vote against Kavanaugh’s appointment, but Republicans failed to perform the jobs for which they were elected, again.
On Wednesday Senator Schumer was speaking before a group of abortion rights activists.
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer told the crowd. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
Little by little, not noticed by Americans who watch television for everything they know, Trump and Moscow Mitch are destroying democracy and replacing the Constitution with fascist doctrines and a fascist regime. Trump has been granted immunity for the crimes he continues to commit, including abuse of power and obstruction of justice.
What is needed to save the future of my America is a revolution. Every Republican in name only must be removed from Washington. The focus of our current government, serving special interests, must end now. Until people take precedence over profits, our country will continue to slide into oblivion.
If you continue to believe in the Republican Party, face the truth. The once Grand Old Party ceased to exist several decades ago. Moscow Mitch, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Chuck Schumer, Rand Paul, John Kennedy, John Cornyn, Chuck Grassley, and the rest are traitors to their predecessors and to our country. They do not embrace the principles or ideals of the Party of Lincoln.
Vote for yourself and your family. This means choosing the candidate whose views are closest to your own. Because they do not serve all Americans, not a single Republican will be your first choice.
