Trump says: “I Can Do Anything I Want:” Why don’t You want to Save the Lives of our Nation’s People?

Two weeks ago, Trump declared himself a “wartime president” as the coronavirus began to spread rapidly. Multiple times Trump made the baseless claim that “as president, I can do anything I want.” The problem appears to be far more insidious; he doesn’t know what to do.

He is right about one thing, in a crisis the president has very special and very powerful tools at his disposal, but Trump is either slow to use them or refuses to take action.

He delayed implementing the Defense Production Act which cost hundreds and possibly thousands of lives. Although the leading expert on contagious disease, Dr. Anthony Fauci is calling for a national ‘stay at home’ directive, Trump refuses to force multiple Republican governors to order this simple and effective action.

With the exception of policies which benefit the wealthy, DJT drags his feet when the American people are in need. He is the rich man’s president. Like all other Republicans, he is incapable of governing a nation of 330 million people.

I suggest that Trump does something for others for the first time in his life. Thanks to the failure of his party, we are stuck with an incompetent man in the White House for the next 10 months.
