I woke up this morning in a cold sweat, frightened and confused. I had a terrible nightmare. I experienced what it was like to be a Trump supporter.
Fortunately, it wasn’t real. I still had my intellect. I did not feel the need to rush to a gun store and purchase a military assault rifle. Nor did I have a desire to join a group wearing swastikas and chanting Nazi slogans. I still respected my wife for the person she is. I continue to value the truth, and therefore have no desire to turn on Fox News or listen to Trump’s “coronavirus briefs.” Most importantly, I continue to respect the Constitution and reject fascism, while valuing our nation for its diversity: whites are not a superior race.
I am convinced that it is a fact that our worst fears often come to us in our sleep in the form of nightmares. I am relieved that I continue to have principles and values. I remain an independent thinker and refuse to belong to a Cult. I will never blindly follow any man, especially one who demands constant praise even when his actions are anti-American and will harm my beloved country.
I hope I have pleasant dreams tonight.
