Let me take you back to a better time when being an American encouraged pride and offered hope. A time not long ago when our nation had a great President for whom we could be proud.
In 2008 the United States desperately needed a leader in the Oval Office. Eight years of another failed Republican presidency placed our nation in a near depression. Unbridled capitalism caused a housing market crash never experienced before in America. America was engaged in two unwinnable and illegal wars. Our nation was divided as the right-wing propaganda machine, Fox News, and extremists and liars including Rush Limbaugh, intentionally spread falsehoods and innuendos which were believed by weak-minded Americans.
President Barrack Hussein Obama was the right man for the job in 2008, and would be the right man today in 2020. President Obama guided our nation through a recovery caused by the same fiscal policies established by another failed Republican from 1981 until 1989, Ronald Reagan. He restored dignity and great intelligence to the office of President of the United States while reestablishing America’s place in the world.
Today, April 19, 2020, I continue to find it difficult to believe that the great president we had just over three years ago was replaced by the least qualified man in history; a man without principles, morals, or average intelligence. A man who has failed throughout his life to accomplish anything.
Surveys prove that if President Obama could run for a third term in November, he would win easily. But another possibility has liberal Democrats such as myself finding excitement in the November election.
There is a growing movement to have Biden choose Michelle Obama as his running mate. Mrs. Obama has answered the possibility of seeking our nation’s highest office with a definite “no” multiple times. However, she loves her country and our nation’s people, and if she believed her candidacy would guarantee a win for Democrats on November 3rd, would she be willing to serve her country?
I can dream; and what a dream this would be. I have extended that dream to the 2024 and 2028 elections. Maybe our nation can be saved.
I like, no, I love the looks of, “Biden/Obama in 2020.”
