Trump and Fox Think You are Stupid: Now You’re Teaching them a Lesson

BLM

When something is reported by the right-wing it’s difficult to know whether the lie is coming from Trump or from Fox News. They report each other’s conspiracy theories and spread lies so similar, it’s impossible to tell them apart.

The truth is, the right-wing thinks you are stupid. Only the uninformed who choose ignorance over fact and reality listen to Trump or his favorite stooges, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Jeanine Pirro. A Fox reporter covering the protests in New York was physically assaulted and forced to run from the area. The people are tired of lies.

I am deeply saddened that the protests related to the murder by cop of George Floyd became riots, but I understand the level of anger among the black community.

The truth is that it is unfair to single out law enforcement for their prejudiced actions against black men and women. From the Attorney General of the United States to the courts in your city, America’s justice system has failed all but the wealthy, and blacks more egregiously than others.

Not only are black men and women treated more severely by your local police, when they go to trial they receive sentences which are often excessive. Whites generally receive shorter incarceration sentences for committing the same crimes.

If you refuse to believe the truth, take a look at this disturbing fact. Although America has only four percent of the world’s population, 25 percent of all men and women incarcerated are in our country’s prisons. This overly large number is party the result of America having the highest recidivism rate in the world. Our current system is focused on punishment; not rehabilitation.

The one fact I hope you will remember from this article is that the protests occurring across our nation today are about much more than the murder of one black man by the name of George Floyd. They are about issues which should not exist, but have for decades. Why do parents of black children find it necessary to teach their children how to act around law enforcement, fearing they might be harmed or even killed? Why should it ever happen that if a black man or woman is driving through an all-white neighborhood they are stopped by the police for no apparent reason, or if they are campaigning for a political candidate, someone calls the police on the individual because he or she is black? Why should any black man or woman be afraid to ask a woman to ‘leash her dog,’ fearing she might call 911, falsely claiming that her life was threatened.

These and many other similar actions happen thousands of times a day across our nation.

The protests are about the big picture: racism is the most serious problem facing our nation today. With the leader of the white supremacy movement in America in the White House, hate groups have become bolder. Hate crimes have increased by more than 800 percent.

America is lagging behind every other developed nation in treating every man and woman equally. Blacks, Hispanics, the LGBTQ community, Muslims, Jews, and women are disrespected constantly. All Americans are promised the same freedoms and the expectation of equal freedom and protection under the law. However, all too often, these are empty words.

Trump’s slogan is facetious: “make America great again.” America has never been a “great” country. As long as racism, or bigotry in any form are allowed to exist and Constitutional rights for millions of Americans are denied, the term “great” will never apply.

At every Trump rally the overall themes are anger, hatred, and violence. The truth is that Trump, his party, and the right-wing propaganda machine, Fox News, promote multiple forms of bigotry and complete disrespect for all liberals who refuse to share Trump’s vision for America.

Take your country back; it belongs to the people, not the politicians.
