Another Trump Lie, and This One Might Kill You

Coronavirus (2)

Articles from multiple credible publications are reporting that at least 19 states are experiencing an increase in the spread of Covid-19. Our nation, which leads the world in two statistics thanks to Donald Trump, number of cases and the number of deaths from the pandemic, is in the middle of this health crisis, not the end. Trump is lying, and claiming it is no longer a threat. DJT has become the “grim reaper” in America.

“We’ve made every decision correctly,” Trump said Friday morning. “We may have some embers or some ashes or we may have some flames coming, but we’ll put them out. We’ll stomp them out.”

Why would an American president make such a fallacious claim? No “real” president would, but we’re talking about Donald John Trump whose win in the Electoral College was illegitimate. It was rigged by Russia and the mainstream television media. Everything about his reign of terror is a lie.

Trump’s failure to lead the fight against Covid-19 resulted in the loss of at least 50,000 American lives. His incompetence is also the reason 40 million Americans are unemployed. Although our nation was moving towards another recession prior to the coronavirus, the pandemic has added to what is a virtual depression. Now our nation is about to experience a resurgence of Covid-19 and healthcare professionals are reporting that they are less prepared than they were in March.

Today, the nations with the most Covid-19 cases are the United States, Brazil, Russia, and the United Kingdom. What do they all have in common? Their leaders have priorities other than the welfare of their people. Their personal ambitions preclude efforts to crush the spread of the pandemic.

19 states are reporting a growth in the number of Covid-19 cases. Although the statistics reveal a lower number of deaths there are factors which affect this particular statistic. New York, which once led the nation in deaths from this coronavirus, is benefiting from early social distancing practices. However, in several states, mostly red, whose governors chose not to “be safe and not sorry,” Covid-19 is spreading rapidly.

One of the states most affected is Arizona. 76 percent of all ICU beds in the state are now occupied. North Carolina now has more people hospitalized for the disease than at any point in the pandemic. States like Texas are experiencing their sharpest increase in cases right now. Ditto Florida. No matter how many times Donald Trump lavishes praise on the Sunshine State (and no matter how many supplies were redirected to that state after being taken from other states), this past week has been Florida’s worst week for cases. And when it comes to deaths, it’s still impossible to tell what’s happening there because Governor Ron DeSantis has been practicing a campaign of deception. (Thanks to the Daily Kos for this information.)

If you do not find these facts frightening, you are a member of Trump’s cult. If you don’t believe them, go take a flight to another city or country. You could become patient number one, infecting thousands of Americans in another state: or you could return home after being infected and spread Covid-19 to your family and friends.

Common sense, but not on our nation’s right-wing of the political spectrum.
